FARMINGTON — Rebecca Ryder, president/CEO of Franklin Community Health Network, will be a featured speaker at the annual summer forum presented by the Maine Hospital Association. This year’s theme is, “Renew …Reinvent …The Roots of Our Success Run Deep.”

The forum, which takes place in Rockport from June 23–25, brings together hospital administrators throughout Maine to hear from nationally-recognized speakers and others who address pressing issues that hospitals face. The conference also provides an opportunity for hospital colleagues to network with one another.

Ryder will present as part of a panel discussion called “No One Ever Taught Me How to Handle This.” The panelists will share their experiences in dealing with the unexpected within their facilities. Accompanying Ryder on the panel will be Roy Hitchings, CEO of Penobscot Bay Medical Center and Eileen Skinner, CEO of Mercy Hospital.

Ryder will discuss the coordinated disaster response to a fire at the Franklin Health Medical Arts Center in January, in which hospital administrators and other staff served on impact teams to address issues such as relocating services, patient care, communications, cleanup, security and planning for repair.
