Worship service

SOUTH PARIS — All are invited to worship at Trinity Lutheran Church, 34 Buckfield Road, on Sunday, June 27, the fifth Sunday after Pentecost.

Service will start at 9 a.m., followed by coffee, refreshments and fellowship.

Texas hold’em

NORWAY — The Harrison Lions Club will hold a Texas hold’em tournament on Sunday, June 27, at Charlie’s Entertainment Center, 246 Main St.

The entry fee is $55. Doors will open at 9 a.m. and the tournament will run from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. A cash bar, food and refreshments will be available. The tournament is limited to 100 players. Proceeds will be used to provide services that the Lion’s Club renders to the community.

Church events

SUMNER — The men of the Congregational Church of East Sumner will cook breakfast for the public from 8 to 10 a.m. Saturday, June 26. The menu will include eggs, sausage, muffins, pancakes, coffee and juice. Cost is $5. At 6:30 p.m., the Rev. Nancy Kennedy will hold a summer solstice evening worship service.

On Monday, June 28, the Buffalo, N.Y., youth work group will arrive for their annual mission project to assist local families with building and repair projects. The group will camp out at the church and work under the direction of Ron Darling and sponsorship of the Hartford Community Church.

Ham radio

FRYEBURG — The Oxford County Amateur Radio/Community Emergency Response Team will participate in the Ham Radio Field Day from noon Saturday, June 26 to noon Sunday, June 27, at the Fryeburg Fairgrounds on the Midway.

The field day is designed to encourage amateur radio operators to set up their equipment in a temporary location to develop their emergency communication skills. The free event is open to the public so visitors can experience or participate in ham radio operations. For more information, call Brad Saunders at 557-8460.
