Who knows when the onslaught of blasting and earth gouging is to resume on the Record Hill Wind project in the quiet little community of Roxbury?
The Department of Environmental Protection doesn’t know and former Gov. Angus King isn’t forwarding any information, while the campers and camp owners of Roxbury Pond sit nervously silent — silenced by a town government that has and continues to manipulate their absolute right to vote.
There is something fishy going on within the halls of the Roxbury town government, but for King and his royal crowd, no news of this is good news.
The new “Roxbury land use ordinance,” or “King’s ordinance,” is available for reading. It states there will be no allowance for industrial or commercial projects within the “Mountain District,” which includes Record Hill. It also states wind complexes are neither industrial or commercial.
Well, here is an offer for the selectmen of Roxbury. Why not place an oil tank farm up on Record Hill among the “nonindustrial” wind complex. If there were a promise of 200 gallons of heating oil for every Roxbury citizen, it would hardly be noticed.
