Documentary screening
NORWAY — A screening and discussion of Sustainable Harvest International’s new documentary “Planting Hope” will be held from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday, June 29, at the Norway Memorial Library, 258 Main St.
After the movie, Katey Branch and Emma and Ruby DayBranch will share stories as local residents who have traveled to work with SHI families on a number of volunteer projects. SHI representative Randy Morrison will attend to discuss the organization’s recent projects in Central America and answer any questions following the documentary.

Sale items needed
NORWAY — The Norway-Paris Fish and Game Association is seeking items for a yard sale to be held Saturday and Sunday, July 10 and 11, at the “old corn shop” on Route 117.
To arrange a drop off or pick up time, call Glen Huntley, yard sale chairman, at 743-8938 or 966-3161. The club has a 40-year history of working to promote and preserve natural resources and outdoor activities with special emphasis on education and hunting and fishing.
The club meets the third Thursday of every month at the Little Red School House on Route 118 for a potluck supper at 6:30 p.m., followed by a business meeting. All are welcome to join. For more information, call Russ Teague, membership chairman, at 890-0535.
Legion dance
SOUTH PARIS — The Jones Dance Band will play old-fashioned dance music from 7 to 10 p.m. Saturday, June 26, at the South Paris American Legion Hall on Church Street. The cost is $5. The lunch counter will be open.
Old shoes needed
NORWAY — The Western Foothills Land Trust is looking for old athletic shoes to be recycled.
The Trust is partnering with Nike’s Reuse-A-Shoe program which recycles materials found in athletic shoes. The materials are ground up by Nike and re-used as components of sport surfaces.
Drop off boxes have been established at the Fare Share Market and at the Oxford Hills Comprehensive High School. The trust will also encourage Norway Triathlon competitors to drop off their old athletic shoes when picking up their registration packets on the eve of the July 10 event.
