BROOKS, Maine (AP) — A 48-year-old Maine man is facing charges he shot his wife to death at their home in Brooks.

The Maine State Police say the body of 49-year-old Deborah Littlefield was found when emergency crews arrived at her home on Friday evening.

State Police Sgt. Anna Love tells the Bangor Daily News that Michael Littlefield was found a short time later and arrested.

She says a rifle believed used in the killing was recovered.

Michael Littlefield is due to be arraigned in court in Belfast on Monday or Tuesday.

Love says the case the case is being treated as a domestic violence homicide.
