RUMFORD — Rumford Hospital recently recognized its HEROES, Health care Employees Reaching Out with Exceptional Services. The program was developed by the Central Maine Medical Family to honor employees who demonstrate the system’s core values of compassion, citizenship, integrity, service, excellence and commitment.

Each year, one employee from the physician practices that are departments of Rumford Hospital, one nurse and one non-nursing employee are selected by senior management from nominations submitted by hospital staff members. The three HEROES for 2010 were recently announced and honored at an afternoon celebration.

Lisa Payne was named to the HEROES roster from the physician practices. Payne, who lives in Mexico, is the office assistant for occupational health, housed at Swift River Family Medicine.

The 2010 HEROES program choice for nursing was Janet Richards of Mexico. A registered nurse, Richards works primarily on the night shift.

Wayne Ricker of Bryant Pond was selected for HEROES as the non-nursing hospital employee. Ricker is an Environmental Services technician.
