FREEMAN TOWNSHIP – A man who reported his camper burglarized and fly-fishing gear stolen has doubled a reward he offered for information leading to apprehension and prosecution of whoever did it, Franklin County Sheriff Lt. Niles Yeaton said Tuesday.

The reward was initially offered at $500 and is now offered at $1,000, he said.

Cpl. Nathan Bean has been investigating the incident reported on May 18.

Reported stolen from the camper in the Stubb’s Meadow area of the town, off West Freeman Road, were a water tank, two L.L. Bean fly-fishing reels and an L.L. Bean Rapid River Vest Pack, Yeaton said previously.

There was extensive damage done to the interior of the camper, he said.

The vest had fishing flies and equipment in and on it, he said.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Bean or Yeaton at the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office at 207-778-2680 or 1-800-773-2680.
