MIDLAND, Texas (AP) — Roger Clemens still has shutout stuff.

Only this time, he was trying to let the guys take him deep — especially his son, Koby.

Koby was among six batters who took 0-fers against the Rocket in the Texas League Home Run Derby.

Clemens kept his heater in the lukewarm range of 60 to 65 mph. A stiff wind blowing in and toward right proved to be the bigger obstacle.

Batters were allowed six non-homer whacks. Koby’s first swing was his best. It was deep enough but twisted foul.

Koby is a 23-year-old first baseman for the Corpus Christi Hooks. He’s second in the Texas League in homers and RBIs. When it seemed likely that he would make the All-Star game, his dad volunteered to take part.
