AUBURN — Germaine T. (Coulombe) Adams, 88, passed away peacefully Monday, June 28, at Clover Manor with her loving family by her side.
She was born in St. Pamphile, P.Q., Canada, Feb. 7, 1922, the eldest child of the late Amedee and Alma (Goudreau) Pelletier. She came to the United States on Nov. 8, 1928, residing in her mother’s hometown of Fort Kent.
She married her lifetime sweetheart, the late Roger R. Coulombe on Nov. 27, 1941. Germaine was a devoted Catholic, and that gave her great strength, comfort and courage. She proudly passed these beliefs on to her family. She was a full-time homemaker taking care of her children and grandchildren and at various times, she also worked from home sewing for shoe companies.
Germaine will be remembered most for her gentle and loving ways. She adored her husband, children and grandchildren. She was most happy when she had a little baby in her arms.
She is survived by her three daughters, Sandra Ahlberg and husband, William, of Mechanic Falls, Dolores Poulin and husband, John, of Auburn and Lucille Slocum and husband, Mark, of Durham; three sons, Michael Coulombe and wife, Annette, of Norway, Ronald Coulombe and wife, Carol, of Skowhegan and Jesse Coulombe and wife, Sharon, of Poland; a daughter-in-law, Valerie Coulombe of Norridgewock; 40 grandchildren across three generations; a brother, Richard Pelletier of Texas; and a sister, Genieva Boulanger of Connecticut.
She was predeceased by a daughter, Theresa G. Coulombe; a son, David R. Coulombe; a brother, Joseph Pelletier; and three sisters, Fernande Pelletier, Georgette Long and Yvette Mathieu.
