DEAR SUN SPOTS: The Knights of Columbus, Council 2358 Lisbon Falls, will be having a stuffed toy drive on July 17 at the Family Dollar Store, Route 196, Lisbon Falls from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The toys collected will be given to the Lisbon Police Department and the Androscoggin Sheriff’s Department to help when young children are involved in an incident. Your help with this toy drive would be greatly appreciated.

A second event is a chicken barbecue to be held on July 25 at the KC Grounds on Route 196, Lisbon Falls. Proceeds for this event will be for Holy Trinity Church. The cost of a ticket is $7 for adults and $4 for children under 12.

DEAR SUN SPOTS: The Lewiston Youth Activity Fund has added Tuesday evening to its bingo game nights. We are now playing Tuesday through Friday at 6:30 p.m. at 475 Pleasant St.

The LYAF has donated $4,000 this year to local students as well as to school libraries for the purchase of books. Since 1999, LYAF has assisted numerous children with sports lessons and equipment, clothing, summer camp, trips, tuition and books.

ANSWER: Sun Spots contacted Good Humor via its website and got the following response: “We have no rental facilities located in your area; you may check your yellow pages for local listings.” Of course, Sun Spots had already done that, to no avail. Maybe readers will have suggestions.

DEAR SUN SPOTS: Does anyone have any information, stories or photos of the camps at Spring Lake, when it was owned by JP Morgan for the employees to each have a two-week vacation in the early 1900s?
