PARIS — Undefeated Bessey Motors (6-0) hammered out a total of 21 hits to sweep away Brunswick with 12-2 and 8-0 victories in an American Legion baseball doubleheader Wednesday night.

In Game 1, Bessey built a 9-2 lead by the fourth inning. D.J. Croy got the win on the mound. Bessey pounded out 11 hits, with Matt Verrier getting a double and teammates Brandon Chase and Cody Hadley each banging out triples.

Bessey’s repeat hitters included Chase with two hits, Evan Humphrey 2 and Hadley with three and driving in four runs.

Bessey had another smooth outing in Game 2 when Humphrey took to the mound and threw an 8-0 shutout, striking out nine batters and giving up three hits over the six innings that he pitched.’

Bessey easily constructed a 5-0 lead by the third inning.

Chase, Croy and Ethan Davidson all doubled for Bessy, with Nate Dubois and Hadley each slapping a triple. Hadley also had three of Bessey’s 10 hits in Game 2.

Swasey-Torrey 7, Andy Valley 5

TURNER- Tyler Gates belted a two-run homer and Swasey-Torrey held off Andy Valley’s rally for a 7-5 victory in American Legion Zone III baseball Wednesday.

Just Conant’s two-run double in the sixth gave Swasey-Torrey a 6-3 lead and proved to be the difference as Andy Valley pulled within two on Ryan Arnold’s two-run double in the seventh.

Ryan Lafleur closed the door to preserve the win for Eric Bolduc. Aaron Fenstermacher had two hits for Swasey-Torrey (4-4). Alex Brochu led Andy Valley (0-7) with three hits.
