AUBURN — Pauline M. Keenan, 77, a resident of 209 Oak Hill Road, Auburn for the past 43 years, passed away at her home with her loving family and friends by her side Wednesday, June 30.

She was born in Lewiston, July 3, 1932, a daughter of the late Augustus J. and Minnie H. Vignault Stone.

She was educated in Lewiston schools and worked for Crest Shoes and retired from Auburn Fairview School, where she managed the kitchen and cafeteria from 1972 to 1994. She was married to Charles W. Keenan Jr. Nov. 24, 1951, till his death on Jan. 24, 2005.

She enjoyed fishing and cooking for her family and many friends. She also loved her rowboat that her father built in her youth living at the end of Summer Street in Lewiston. She enjoyed boating on the Androscoggin River.

She enjoyed line dancing with her friends and her water walking at the YWCA. She was very active to the very end of her life, and her family was most important to her and her kindness to friends.

Pauline will be remembered for her stories of the past, her recipes and her ability to make you feel welcomed.

She is survived by a daughter, Judy Keenan-Bower of Turner; four sons, Jeffrey Keenan of Auburn, David Keenan and Sunni Busch, of Buckfield, Randy Keenan and fiancee, Marie Beaucage of Minot and Charles Keenan and wife, Doreen, of Buckfield; her grandchildren, Ashley, Cara and Jared Bower, Ryan and wife, Rachel Jones, Charles Keenan IV and wife, Drusilla, Elizabeth Keenan and fiance, Scott Wetherell and Christopher Keenan; a great-grandson, Keenan Jones, who was a joy for her; another great-grandchild due in December; and her brother, Robert Stone of Florida.

She was predeceased by her five sisters, Elaine Williams, Minnie Laroche, Lillian Nichols, Marguerite Keene and Regina Moody; and her two brothers, Charles and Alfred Stone.
