GREENE — Edward C. Veinott Jr., 74, a resident of Patten Road, Greene, died July 1, in Greene.

He was born July 31, 1936, in Jefferson, N.H., the son of Edward C. Sr. and Violet E. Newton Veinott. Edward attended school in Greene. He proudly served in the U.S. Army. Edward worked as a shoemaker, having worked at Knapp shoe and Falcon shoe, both in Lewiston; the last few years, he worked at Valley Cemetery cutting and trimming the grass.

He enjoyed tinkering, fishing, boating, snowmobiling and four wheeling.

He is survived by a brother, Don Veinott and his wife, Sue, of Sabattus; his cat, Snoopy; his aunt, Clara Morris, of Greene; nephews and nieces; best friends, Roger “Red” Carver, John Fogg, and Ron Ward, all of Greene.

He was predeceased by a brother, Robert Veinott.
