FARMINGTON — A July 4th weekend of fireworks, parades and more is planned throughout Franklin County over July 3 and 4.

Fireworks displays are planned for Saturday at dusk in Industry and Rangeley.

The Industry Fire and Rescue will once again light up the sky with an Independence Day display Saturday in Wing’s Field, off Route 148. Gates open at 5 p.m.

This year’s celebration is dedicated to the memory of Ronnie Wing, who passed away earlier this year.

Rangeley’s traditional July 3 fireworks display begins at dusk after a day of activities Saturday during its Independence Day celebration in Lakeside Park.

A Children’s Day parade begins at 10 a.m. Saturday followed by a lobster bake at 11 a.m. at 2640 Main St. Along with the parade, the day also includes cookouts, a silent auction, an arts and crafts show and more.

Rangeley Health and Wellness will sponsor a duck race on Haley Pond Stream after the Children’s Day parade.

Rangeley Lakes Logging Museum will hold its museum auction Saturday starting at 10 a.m. at the museum on Route 16.

Farmington will also celebrate on July 3 with an Independence Day parade starting at 10 a.m. from the University of Maine at Farmington parking lot on High Street.

The parade theme this year, “Hands Around the World,” starts lining up at the UMF lot at 8:30 a.m. continues up High Street across Broadway and down Main Street to South Street.

Farmington Recreation’s Flagg Family Fishing Derby will also be held Saturday starting at 8 a.m. at Rollo Pond on the UMF campus. It’s a July 4th tradition. Director Steve Shibles wanted to keep the derby with Farmington’s other events and moved to Saturday with the parade because of the Sunday holiday this year.

Carrabassett Valley’s July 4th celebration takes place on Sunday. Events begin at noon with the opening of the Carrabassett Valley Outdoor Association’s food booth.

A children’s parade lines up at Tufulio’s parking lot and the parade begins at 12:30 p.m. and proceeds to the Town Park where music, magic and firetruck rides take place before the town’s fireworks by Central Maine Pyrotechnics begin at 9:15 p.m.

Music by Kathy’s Karaoke begins at 1 p.m. and continues throughout the afternoon in the town park. A magic show by Stephen the Great begins at 1:30. Children’s arts and crafts and a hunt for surprises in the sawdust take place during the afternoon. Firetruck rides will be offered from 3 to 5 p.m. and music by the Coyote Drifters begins at 5:30 prior to the fireworks.
