FARMINGTON — Richard T. Wright, 79, of Farmington, died early Wednesday, June 30, at the Franklin Memorial Hospital.

He was born on July 30, 1930, in Farmington, the son of Clinton and Ruby (Lunny) Wright. He attended and graduated from local schools before enlisting in the U.S. Army, serving during the Korean War.

On Aug. 31, 1957, he married Mary Williams in Cape Cod, Mass. They made their home in Farmington raising two children while he did carpentry work the majority of his life, most notably for Sully Greenwood.

An avid reader, he enjoyed being a history “buff” particularly of the Civil War.

He is survived by his children, James Wright and his wife, Kimberlee, of Westbrook and Susan Robbins and her husband, William, of Freeport; and three grandchildren, Eliot Robbins and Garen and Grier Wright.

He was predeceased by his wife, Mary on Jan. 14, 2007.
