PORTLAND — Robert V. Silver, 70, resident of Durham, passed away unexpectedly at Maine Medical Center on July 1. He was the “best” dad and husband, and will be extremely missed.
He was born May 3, 1940, in Boscawen, N.H., son of William and Ruth Silver.
On June 23, 1962, he married the love of his life, Nancy Fisk. He worked at Rumford Press in Concord, N.H., for 22 years and retired from Dingley Press in Lisbon, after 22 years.
He had a great sarcastic sense of humor, and always had a comeback. He loved hunting and fishing, and any conversation having to do with hunting, and of course the “Red Sox.” He was a lifetime member of the North American Hunting Club.
Besides his wife of 48 years, Nancy, he is survived by a daughter, Laurie Cluche and her husband, Chris, of Weare, N.H.; a daughter, Lorna Silver of Kittery; a daughter, Lisa Coward and her husband, Thomas, of Monmouth; a son, Eric Silver and his wife, Melissa, of Lisbon Falls; 12 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; his brother, William Silver and his wife, Jean, of Loudon, N.H.; a sister, Kathy Dandurand and her husband, David, of Canterbury, N.H.; a sister, Virginia Benoit and her husband, Buddy, of Boscawen, N.H.; and a brother, Ronald Silver of Webster, N.H.
You are invited to share your thoughts, condolences and fond memories with the Silver family by visiting Robert’s guestbook at www.crosmanfuneralhome.com.
