AUBURN — Walter and Linda Law of Auburn are announcing the engagement of their daughter, Megan Day of Dayton, to Thomas Shaw of Dayton, son of Richard and Yvonne Shaw of Dayton.

The couple met in 2005 as residential assistants at Husson College. They began as friends and fell in love when it was unexpected.

Miss Day is a 2008 graduate of Husson College with a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice and psychology. She is currently employed in a residential facility for teenagers. She plans to attend graduate school for forensic psychology in 2011.

Mr. Shaw is a 2006 graduate of New England School of Communications with a degree in communications, specializing in television and film production. He is employed at a local television station.

The couple is planning a fall wedding in Saco, with a reception to have the theme of 1940s-1950s Classic Hollywood. They are planning to move to Florida after the wedding for the future bridegroom to complete his degree in game design.
