WALES — Members of Lakeside Chapter 60, Order of the Eastern Star, will meet at 6 p.m. Tuesday, July 13, at the Grange-Masonic Hall, 322 Centre Road, to host a Friends Night fundraising pot luck supper. Proceeds will benefit the Eastern Star Training and Religious Leadership Scholarship.

Pioneer Chapter 11 of Lisbon Falls will bring salads and Pine Cone 26 of Auburn will bring desserts. Lakeside will provide the main course. The donation will be $3 each person and the funds will be shared among the three chapters. The money will be sent to the Grand Chapter of Maine to provide funds for the ESTARL Scholarships, which are open to any qualifying second-year student in the religious field, members and nonmembers alike. The Friends Night meeting will follow at 7 p.m. Lakeside will honor the station of chaplain. Invited guests are: Jerri A. Holt, past grand matron, chairwoman, ESTARL Committee; Bernald W. Tufts, grand chaplain of Maine; Edward W. Rohr, grand chaplain of New Hampshire and Genesta Chapter in Bath; Jane J. Simms, General Grand Chapter Committee member in New Hampshire, Eastern Star Journal; and the chaplains of District 4.

At the June meeting, the secretary reported on the “Garden of Memories” Grand Chapter Session held in May in Augusta. Lakeside Chapter was awarded three stars for their ESTARL Certificate, a Certificate of Achievement for donating $199 to ESTARL, $120 to the Worthy Grand Matron and Worthy Grand Patron’s Special Project and a Certificate of Appreciation from the Vision Committee for initiating new members. She also reported on the highlights of the School of Instruction held at Golden Sheaf Chapter in New Gloucester for Districts 4, 5 and 6.

On June 29, 11 members visited Pine Cone Chapter and brought Mustang Sally back to Lakeside. Mustang Sally is this year’s traveling mascot in District 4. 

Officers are reminded that ladies will wear colored gowns and the men will wear suits or tuxedos. Visiting members are welcome.
