Ellis River Riders

ANDOVER — The Ellis River Riders will host a Versatility Trail Challenge on Saturday, July 17, at their grounds on Airport Road. The challenge is part of the six-event Maine Versatility Trail Challenge Series.

It will include a series of several obstacles that simulate some of the challenges one may encounter on a trail ride. It is a timed event and the horse and rider are scored on horsemanship. The event includes four divisions including youth novice, youth open, adult novice and adult open.

Participants are asked to preregister using the registration form found on the Ellis River Riders website, www.ellisriverriders.com. Rain date will be July 18.

Society meeting

PERU — The Peru Historical Society will meet at 6 p.m. Tuesday, July 13, at the Rockemeka Grange Hall.

Camperships

RUMFORD — Local River Valley businesses have made possible camperships for local children ages 5 to 12 to attend the Greater Rumford Community Center Day Camp at Black Mountain.
