AUGUSTA, Maine (AP) — A $5 million bond issue for dental health programs has been chosen by a public drawing to be the top borrowing question on the Nov. 2 ballot.

Secretary of State Matthew Dunlap conducted the drawing Thursday. Maine law requires the drawing process for ballot positions.

The ballot will include one citizen initiative proposing casino gambling in Oxford County, which must be first on the ballot.

The first bond issue seeks $5 million for dental health programs, including a community-based teaching dental clinic affiliated with a college of dental medicine, and upgrades of community-based health and dental care clinics.

The second bond issue seeks $9.7 million for land conservation, working waterfront preservation and parks.

Maine voters will also elect a new governor in November.
