JAY — A Livermore Falls police cruiser struck a parked car on Church Street Wednesday as it made a turn onto the road from Knapp Street near the town line, Jay Police Chief Larry White Sr. said Thursday.

Livermore Falls police officer Stephen Allen, 25, was running a registration on the cruiser’s laptop computer when the accident occurred, White said.

Allen was not hurt in the accident.

An estimated $1,000 in damage was done to the left rear of the unoccupied parked car, a 1989 Chevrolet, owned by Pamela Hardy of Jay, White said.

Estimated damage to the right front of the 2010 Ford cruiser was about $2,000, White said.
