AUBURN — Erla May Shocklee of Turner, Utica, Kentucky and Oak Hill, Fla., went to be with her Lord on July 6, at Androscoggin Hospice, with her family by her side.

Born Feb. 15, 1939, in Gardner, Mass., to Eugene and Marion Field Richardson, the family moved to Turner in 1943, where she grew up and graduated from Leavitt Institute in 1956. In 1959, she married Randall E. Shocklee of Livermore, Ky.

Erla was a homemaker all her life and moved with Randall, an Air Force career man, all over the United States and Germany. After retiring, they lived in Saudi Arabia for 10 years, before settling in Utica, Ky., where Randall died in a tragic tractor accident in 1995.

She is survived by her four children, Karen Dlaine and husband, Mike Bell, of Turner, Randall, Jr. and wife, Sharon, of Oak Hill, Fla., Gena Marie and husband, Towfik Bellow, of Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, and Robert Edward and wife, Amy, of Utica, Ky.; her 10 grandchildren, Danielle, Miranda, Elizabeth, Emily, Sondus, Keely, Sami, Cora, Randon and Jessica; and her four great-grandchildren, Javier, Elian, Julian and Caleb; she is the first of 11 children to pass away; she leaves behind her five brothers, Eugene Jr., David, Harry, Danny and Lonnie Richardson; and her five sisters, Joan Campbell, Goldie Sampson, Cody Buck, Shirley Cummings and Martha Trask.

She was predeceased by her parents.

She was quite a character and will be lovingly remembered by all who knew her.

The family wishes to thank Androscoggin Hospice and their wonderful staff for all their efforts and support during the last days of her life.
