LEWISTON — Valerie Thompson, 45, died peacefully July 4, at Central Maine Medical Center with friends by her side.

Born in Rockland, Jan. 17, 1965, Valerie lived with her parents, Vernon and Julia Thompson, until their passing. Valerie lived a large portion of her life with Mary Ann Arthur in Buckfield. When Valerie became very ill, she moved to Montello Manor in Lewiston for several years. During that time, she had a guardian angel, “Pauline.” Valerie moved to Twenty-Four Old Lisbon Road in June 2008, and stayed there until her death.

Valerie was described as a happy-go-lucky lady with a great sense of humor. She loved movies and the “Price is Right.” She enjoyed shopping for shoes and having her nails done. Animals, especially dogs, made her happy.

Throughout her medical battles, Valerie kept her positive attitude, her love of life, and her sense of humor. She was a fighter and very brave. It was an honor to have known her. She will not be forgotten and will be sadly missed.
