FARMINGTON — Harold W. Bucklin Jr., 83, a resident of Bucklin Drive, Jay, died Friday, July 9, at Orchard Park Nursing Home, where he had resided for the past two years.

He was born April 23, 1927, in Livermore Falls, the son of Harold W. Bucklin Sr. and Hazel (Wallingford) Bucklin. He was a graduate of Livermore Falls High School. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II in the European Theater.

On Nov. 8, 1945, in Portland, he married Mae Luciano of Livermore Falls. Harold worked at Livermore Shoe, Bon Air Shoe in Auburn and Carlton Woolen Mill in Winthrop, retiring in 1989. He was a member of the Independent Order of Odd Fellows, Frank L. Mitchell VFW Post 3335 in Jay, and the New Country Swingers. He enjoyed the time spent with family and friends and having Hoot-n-Nanny’s at his home every Saturday evening and having jam sessions at his mother’s home.

He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Mae Bucklin of Jay; two daughters, Janice St. Cyr and her husband, Dan, of Mexico and Debra Therrien of Jay; seven grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

He was predeceased by his granddaughter, Danielle St. Cyr; sisters, Addie Berry and Evelyn Clark; and his brother, Rodney Bucklin.
