SEASIDE, Ore. — Paul A. Philippon, 67, of Seaside, Ore., passed away peacefully at his home Tuesday, July 6, of complications from multiple sclerosis.

He was born in Lewiston, Sept. 14, 1942, the son of Raoul A. and Laurianne F. (Fournier) Philippon. After graduating from St. Dominic High School in 1960, he earned a bachelor’s degree in economics from Providence College in Rhode Island. He then served in the U.S. Navy aboard the aircraft carrier USS Wasp. Upon his discharge, he moved to California, to accept a position with the Texaco Corporation.

After many years with Texaco, he then worked for the Brooks Brothers clothing company. His careers took him to many cities in the U.S., including Los Angeles, San Diego, Houston, Scottsdale and Minneapolis.

In 1989, he married Margaret Ann (Marny) Blake, a native of Colorado. She passed away in February 2009.

An avid reader and enthusiastic sports fan, Paul also enjoyed traveling, skeet-shooting and crossword puzzles. He especially liked football and his favorite team was the Oakland Raiders.

He is survived by his mother-in-law, Marion Blake; sister-in-law, Mary Blake; stepdaughters, Kristi Skiba of Portland, Ore., and Laura Warren of Silt, Colo.; sister, Nancy Doucet and her husband, Leo, of Portsmouth, R.I.; his brother, Roger Philippon and his wife, Celeste, of Lewiston; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his wife, he was predeceased by his parents; and his sister, Irene Doucette of Dublin, Calif., in April.
