LEWISTON — Leon “Cy” Wagg, son of John and Geraldine Wagg, 62, of Bowdoin, died Saturday, July 10, after a brief hospital stay.

Cy enjoyed hunting, loved camping in northern Maine and was a lumberjack by trade. His hobbies were raising and training oxen to work in the woods or pull at the fairs.

He was very artistic, making the yoke’s and bows for his oxen and designing dress harness for them. He also crafted miniature replicas of old farm implements, made canes for friends in need and he made a variety of items from white birch bark. Cy was also an entertaining storyteller.

He is survived by two daughters, Lisa Bussiere of Greene and Wendy Roy of Auburn; three grandsons, Anthony Dixon, Matthew Dixon and Nicholas Roy; one great-grandson, Julian Dixon; four brothers, Emery Wagg, Thomas Wagg, Burton Wagg and Joseph Wagg; four sisters, Kathryn Bernier, Janice Lilly, Ava Ricker and Geraldine Beirne; and 45 nieces and nephews.

Cy was predeceased by one brother, John Wagg II; and a granddaughter, Amanda Roy.
