FARMINGTON — Two women were taken to Franklin Memorial Hospital late Tuesday afternoon for a precautionary check of minor injuries received in a two-vehicle crash on the Wilton Road, said Sgt. Shane Cote from the Farmington Police Department.

Mary E. Tracy-Bastien, 46, of Sarasota, Fla., and her mother, Phyllis Tracy, 75, of Belville, Ontario, were traveling east in a 2005 Toyota Matrix and had stopped on the inside lane to make a left-hand turn into the Harvest House Restaurant about 4:30 p.m.

A 2003 GMC pickup driven by Heather Campbell, 17, of Phillips struck the rear of the car, which then traveled down the road ending up in front of Aubuchon Hardware, Cote said.

Campbell was  traveling east in the outside lane but had changed lanes to pass a slower vehicle in front of her. She moved into the inside lane but didn’t see the stopped Toyota until she struck it, he said.

Campbell’s sister, Shania, 10, was with her and apparently received minor seatbelt injuries, he said.

Traffic was slowed to two lanes for about 45 minutes while the accident scene was cleared. The women were transported by United Ambulance and NorthStar Ambulance.
