TURNER — The Turner Natural History Club Museum will present the annual flower show and photo contest on Sunday, July 18, at the museum in Turner Center. Entries will be accepted from 9 to 11 a.m. and judging will be at 11. The shows will be open to the public at 10 a.m.

Entries will be judged to a standard of excellence and there may be more than one blue ribbon in a category. Anyone may enter either or both shows. This is not a show for professionals and participants do not have to be an expert horticulturalist or photographer to enter or win.

Flower show categories are as follows: youth, through age 12 (although they can compete in adult categories), miniature, specimen, unusual, antique container, herbs in a basket, wildflowers, unusual plant material, houseplant; woodland harvest, business. Plant varieties should be listed on labels.

The photo contest is open to any camera, any format and any size. Categories include landscape (includes flowers), birds, animals and youth through age 12.

Photos should be labeled with details, such as where it was taken.

The public is invited as this is also an open house and chance to see the thousands of museum collection items. Children are especially welcome. There will be free refreshments.
