MONMOUTH — The Theater At Monmouth will present George Bernard Shaw’s “Misalliance,” a play that brings together a pompous underwear magnate, a stiff ambassador, a fetching Polish aviatrix and a plain-talking socialist clerk.

The comedy offers Shaw’s hilarious view of life, parenting, love and lust; and features snappy dialogue and memorable characters.

Directed by David Greenham, the show will open at 7:30 p.m. Friday, July 23. Additional performances will be on July 24, 25 and 31; and Aug. 4, 12, 14, 17, 18 and 20.

A reception will follow the show when audience members can enjoy complimentary food and drinks, and meet the director and cast. A 50/50 raffle will be held before the show and during intermission.

Besides “Misalliance,” TAM’s season repertory includes Shakespeare’s “The Comedy of Errors” and “Pericles, Prince of Tyre;” Mark Twain’s “Is He Dead?” and the children’s show, Oscar Wilde’s “The Canterville Ghost.” Gilbert and Sullivan’s “The Pirates of Penzance” will close the theater’s 41st season.

Tickets are $26 on opening night. All other performances are $24 for adults, $22 for seniors and matinees, $20 for students. TAM performances are at Cumston Hall. For tickets or more information, call 933-9999 or visit www.theateratmonmouth.org.

Among the cast members in the Theater at Monmouth’s production of “Misalliance” are Brian Bell and Annie Rubino.
