LEWISTON — The Lewiston-Auburn chapter of the Maine Outdoor Adventure Club has announced the recipients of this year’s teen wilderness scholarships.

Emily Craft, Elijah Moreshead, Keifer Schulze and Nathan Vining were awarded a seven-day backpacking and canoeing trip in Maine and New Hampshire lead by the Appalachian Mountain Club staff.

The club, an all-volunteer member organization, supports any activities involving the exploration and appreciation of the natural world. Members organize and lead all trips and activities from beginner to expert.

All are welcome to join the club to challenge themselves, share an outdoor skill or meet other outdoor adventurers.

The chapter meets at 6:30 p.m. on the third Wednesday of every month, in the Central Maine Medical Center conference rooms. The next meeting will be July 21. Jym St. Pierre and Lou Demers will discuss the proposal to create a 3.2-million-acre national park and preserve in the heart of the Maine woods.
