LEWISTON – In opening-round action of the Babe Ruth District 3 15-year old all-star baseball tournament, Tri-County North defeated Auburn Suburban, 9-8, in eight innings

Host Elliot Ave. topped Tri-County South, 12-9.

The tournament will continue through Sunday at Elliot Field on Lemay Ave.

Apple Valley wins in District 3 draw

AUGUSTA – Eben Ballard hit a home run to spark Apple Valley to a 6-1 victory over Central Maine in the opening game of the Babe Ruth District 5 15-year-old all-star baseball tournament.

Josh Martin was the winning pitcher for Apple Valley. Christian Fullerton and Ben Harwood each added a single to the Apple Valley attack. Reid Nutter, Brock Deschaine and Josh Woodard all singled for Central Maine.
