1945 – 2010
PORTLAND — Raymond Eugene Durgin Sr. passed away on July 15 at Maine Medical Center in Portland after battling a short illness.
He was born on Dec. 30, 1945, in Oxford to Kenneth and Hilma (Holmes) Durgin. He served our country for 27 years as a U. S. Marine.
He loved being with his family and friends. He enjoyed gardening and playing cribbage. He leaves behind his two dogs, Teddy and Lucky Lady.
He is survived by his companion, Jean Hamilton, of Fryeburg; two sons, Raymond Durgin Jr. of Fryeburg and Paul Durgin of Portland; two brothers, Leroy Durgin and his companion, Janis, of West Paris and Dwayne Durgin and his wife, Becky, of Sumner; three sisters, Charlotte Varney and her husband, John, of Oxford, Shelia Durgin of Waterford and Cheryl Cabana of Oxford; and many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his parents; four sisters, Gloria, Naomi, Sandra and Rachel; and one brother, Sonny.
