There are some different but similar circumstances in this world. The Gulf oil spill is affecting many states, people and wildlife. The unleashing of Sarah Palin from Alaska by Sen. John McCain, like the oil spill, has affected many states, plus created a new breed of animals — the pink elephant.

Millions are being spent. One, trying to shut down the oil leak, while the other is paying Palin big bucks for her speaking engagements. Both are creating major pollution that will affect us for years.

The war in Afghanistan and the gay movement for equality are hopeless wars with no wins in sight. There are too many terrorists sabotaging efforts in both areas. Many young lives have been taken for those causes, including Matthew Shepard of Wyoming and Charlie Howard of Maine.

Though those topics are different, they are similar in that they are costing us millions.

Money, my friends, is the root of all evil, and something we must all leave behind when we die.
