Competition among fire departments at the Kingfield Days event was fierce on Saturday, as volunteers from Franklin County towns raced to hook fire hoses in a test of speed and skill. It was the first muster in many years, Kingfield Fire Chief Chuck Twitchell said. Cody Blodgett, right, of Temple works with an unidentified partner to complete the first connection. Sunday’s activities include mud football games, a 5K walk and run, a pie-eating contest and cook-off, and an old-fashioned truck pull.
