My biggest gripe is that all the outside pay phones are vanishing. I recently took a trip up to Rumford; my Tracphone did not work there. I finally found a pay phone inside the back of Wal-Mart. If Wal-Mart was closed, then what? What if it had been an emergency or if it had been someone trying to escape from an abductor. Would they have found help in time? I don’t think so! I really think our telephone companies or whoever is in charge of this should rethink this matter!

The near complete absence of cultural and educational opportunities. Theaters (not movie), galleries and museums are nonexistent in most communities and extremely scarce within the state as a whole.

I read the gripe of the woman who said pharmacies ask for her date of birth. I thank them for asking and I give it gladly. I happen to have the same name and even middle initial as someone here in Maine. It can cause problems. So please pharmacies and doctors officers, keep on asking for date of birth. I give it gladly.
