CLERMONT, Fla.  — Mildred (Betty) Chick, 100, a former resident of Wilson Pond Road, North Monmouth, died July 16, at Westminster Care Center in Clermont, Fla., just one day short of her 101st birthday.

She was born in Monmouth on July 17, 1909, the daughter of Austin W. and Lois (Magner) Carter. She was educated in Monmouth schools, graduating from Monmouth Academy in 1928. She attended business college at the Auburn Maine School of Commerce. On June 18, 1932, she married Benjamin Chick in North Monmouth. Mr. Chick passed away in 1992.

Betty is survived by one daughter, Lois Witham and her husband, Frank, of Clermont, Fla.; two sons, Norman A. Chick and his wife, Rowena, of Monmouth and James B. Chick and his wife, Donna, of Monmouth; six grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and five great-great grandchildren.

She was predeceased by a grandson, Christopher L. Chick in 1985.
