FARMINGTON — Sally Gage Curtis, 92, of Farmington, died at her home in Farmington, Friday morning, July 16, under the care of Hospice.
Born in Boston, Mass., May 28, 1918, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George H. Gage and Mildred Allen Atkinson. She was educated at Abbott (Phillips) Academy in Andover, Mass., and at Monticello College in Alton, Ill. Sally married Charles Nason Curtis M.D., on June 14, 1941, he died in 1976.
As a part of the “Greatest Generation,” she followed her husband in the Navy across the country with kids in tow. She was a member of the Trinity Episcopal Church of Topsfield, Mass., participating in the altar guild. She was also a member of the Topsfield Garden Club. Sally enjoyed saltwater boating and fishing, gardening, camping, gold panning, bird watching, mountain climbing and was an avid crossword puzzler.
Survivors include two daughters, Sarah Curtis of Farmington and Ann Curtis Perry and her husband, Robert, of Gill Mass.; four sons, Charles G. of Farmington, George H. and his wife, Elizabeth, of Massachusetts, John K. of Canton and Samuel H. and his wife, Brenda, of Peru; nine grandchildren, Anna, Molly, Alexandra, Jenny, Amanda, Ben, Cyrus, Ethan and Max.
She is predeceaced by her parents; and her husband; a sister, Julia Gage Moses; and a brother, Kenneth Gage.
