GREENE — Armand Joseph Morissette, 73, died Sunday, July 18, at his home, surrounded by his family.
He was born March 21, 1937, to Philip and Eva Morissette of Wales. He served in the U.S. Army and worked most of his life at Knapp Shoe and other factories in Lewiston-Auburn as a machinist. He also owned and operated Morissette’s Garage in Greene, until he turned the business over to his son, Roger.
He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Germaine Pelletier Morissette, whom he wed on June 28, 1958; six sons, Paul and wife, Sharon, of Lewiston, Mike and wife, Kellie, of Hermon, Leo and wife, Janet, of Greene, Roger and wife, Lisa, of Greene, John and wife, Kristina, of Middleburg, Fla., and Tommy and wife, Diane, of Norway; one daughter, Donna Harris and husband, Harry, of Auburn; 18 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; three brothers, Edmond and wife, Lucille, Rene and wife, Lucia and Donald and wife, Emma; and four sisters, Mignonne Lessard, Lorette Galipeau and husband, Gerry, Henriette Poirier and Dorothy Poulin and husband, Ronald.
He was predeceased by his parents, Philip and Eva Morissette; two brothers, Raymond and Normand; and one sister, Florence.
As one of his grandsons described, “Pepere had a presence about him, even strangers knew that he was a stand up man. His zest for life and love of family and God will continue in the hearts of all who were blessed with the presence of the Lord’s Angel, Armand in their lives.
