BANGOR, Maine (AP) — Police in Bangor, Maine, say a convicted sex offender decided to strip off his clothes and go for a run.
Police Sgt. Paul Edwards says the 23-year-old transient was found near a Dunkin Donuts and Holiday Inn, and was taken to Eastern Maine Medical Center for a mental evaluation.
Edwards didn’t identify the man because no charges were filed.
He told the Bangor Daily News that the man technically wasn’t naked under Maine law, since he held the clothes he was carrying over his private parts.
