SOUTH PARIS — Norma Jean (Zayac) Merris, 70, of Oxford died Sunday, July 18, at Market Square Health Care Center.

She was born in New York City, Jan. 16, 1940, the daughter of Andrew and Irene (Belanger) Zayac.

Norma graduated in 1957 from Wilham Cullen Bryant in Long Island City, N.Y. She moved to Maine from New York, in 1985. She worked at Isaac and Raymond Law Firm in Lewiston until her retirement.

She liked reading and writing letters to friends. Her family and friends were very important to her.

She is survived by her son, Scott Merris of Oxford; sister, Andrea Martin of Queens, N.Y.; two nieces, Allyson Martin of Bayside, N.Y., and Melissa Martin of Long Island, N.Y.; and several cousins in the Oxford Hills area.
