VIENNA — A celebration of life funeral service for the Rev. David A. Ripley of Mount Vernon was held Sunday from the North Vienna United Methodist Church, Vienna, with the Rev. Laura E. Church officiating. Greeters were Debbie and Len Rob. Congregational hymns included “Kum Ba Yah,” “Do Lord,” “It’s Me, O Lord,” “His Name is Wonderful,” “Precious Lord,” “He Lives,” “Standing on the Promises,” and “How Great Thou Art.” A special duet, “On Eagles Wings,” was sung by Kathy Meader and Laura Church. Prayers and a personal eulogy were given by the Rev. Beverly Stenmark and a family eulegy was offered by his son Donald Ripley. After services, a reception, hosted by the UMW was held in the Fellowship Hall of the church. Pallbearers were Robert Briden, Mike Cole, Kyle Burns, Tina Taylor, Peter Burns, Bill Grace, John Linscott and Bruce Andrews. After cremation, a private family committal service will be held at the New North Vienna Cemetery. Arrangements are in the care of the Wiles Remembrance Center, Farmington.
