ALEXANDRIA, Minn. — Vera Alexsandra (Seppala) Olsen, 89, wife of former UMF President, Einar A. Olsen, died Monday, June 14, at Bethany Nursing Home.

Vera was born Oct. 20, 1920, in Gloucester, Mass., where she grew up and attended school.

She is survived by her sons, Donald and Stephen (Lucy) of Alexandria; grandchildren, Xanthe (Steve) Walker of Cottage Grove, Minn., Stephanie (Brad) Buffington of Forest City, Iowa, Carl (Amber) Olsen of Moorhead, Minn.; great-grandchildren, Laura, Jacob, Carson and Natalie Buffington; sisters-in-law, Louise and Kay Seppala and Pat Olsen.

Vera was predeceased by her husband, Einar; her parents, Samuel and Alexsandra; her brothers, John, Lauri, Albert, Uno, George, Raymond, Aarne and Robert; and her sisters, Hilma (Sauter), Helmi, Aili (Ronka).
