VFW plans show
HARRISON — A High Ryder Golden Oldies Show will be held at VFW Post 9328, 176 Waterford Road, with doors opening at 6 p.m. Saturday, July 24.
The variety show, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. will include Imari and the Sahara Desert Dancers, Lisa DeBenedictis and Dan Loan, Common Bond and Henry Smith and his Beatles Memories. That show is by donation.
The High Ryder show will take place from 9 p.m. to midnight. Tickets are $10 at the door. For advance tickets, call Muffett at 850-501-2709 or Brian at 583-4931.
Vacation school
OTISFIELD — The Spurrs Corner Church, 1005 Route 121, will hold Vacation Bible School from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday through Friday, Aug. 10 to 13.
There will be skits, crafts, games, snack, Bible stories and songs each night for ages 4 years through those entering sixth grade. The program will conclude at 10 a.m. Sunday, Aug. 15, at the church. Book-making
PARIS — The Hamlin Memorial Library will host a free “Make Your Own Book” activity for children of all ages from 11 a.m. to noon Tuesday and Thursday, Aug. 3 and 5. Rachel Hammond will teach participants how to create their own illustrated books.

Benefit weekend
WATERFORD — A benefit weekend, for Ron Smith of Harrison, who has been diagnosed with cancer, will be held Friday and Saturday, July 23 and 24, at the Waterford Fairgrounds.
A cost of $25 a person for the weekend will include entertainment, a poker run, horseshoe tournament, bottle drive, auction, chicken barbecue and dance. Camping is $10 a night.
