Don Nieves of S&R Construction keeps a steady stream of water flowing to keep down the dust as an excavator clears debris from a lot at the corner of Blake and Pine streets in Lewiston on Wednesday. A crew unloads steel sheeting that will be used in a new, 10-unit apartment building. One-, two- and three-bedroom units will be built, with financing awarded by MaineHousing (Maine State Housing Authority), the Lewiston-Auburn Community Development Block Grant program, the Federal Home Loan Bank of Boston and Androscoggin Bank.
