1921 – 2010

SOUTH PARIS — Leslie Roy McLeod, 89, of Dixfield, passed away on Tuesday, July 20, at the Maine Veterans’ Home in South Paris.

He was born May 10, 1921, in Peru, the son of Chester and Margaret (Eastman) McLeod. He was a veteran, having served in the United States Navy during World War II.

For many years he was employed at Diamond International as a machinist. He was a longtime member of the King Hiram Masonic Lodge and the Swasey-Torrey American Legion Post No. 100. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and working in his vegetable gardens.

He is survived by his wife, Helen (Hobert) McLeod, a resident of Edgewood Rehabilitation and Living Center, Farmington; their son, Robert McLeod and his wife, Allison, of Enfield, Conn.; their daughter, Joyce Bailis and her husband, Norman, of Goodyear, Ariz.; one brother, Wardsworth McLeod and his wife, Jeanette, of Dixfield; four sisters, Eleathia Harvell of Bolton, Conn., Reta Harvell and Clara Hiscock, both of Spring Hill, Fla. and Barbara Descy of Vernon, Conn.; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
