LEEDS — Danielle Harris has been appointed Leeds Central School interim principal. Harris currently serves as Biddeford Intermediate School assistant principal, a position she has held since 2007.

Harris has eight years of teaching experience at the elementary level in Auburn and Lewiston schools and one year in New Hampshire. Prior to entering the field of education, Harris served with RPS Inc., now Fed Ex Ground.

Harris earned a bachelor of science degree in business administration from the University of Southern Maine in 1993. She was awarded a master of science degree in education in 2000 and a certificate of advanced study in educational leadership in 2006.

Harris will replace former principal Gwen Smith, who has accepted a position in Greenbush. Harris is slated to begin at Leeds Central School on Aug. 2.
