HOPKINTON, Mass. — Lucile Dulac (Bergeron) Lachance, 88, of Auburn, passed away Thursday, July 15, peacefully at her daughter’s home in Hopkinton, Mass. Her family rallied together to provide love and care during her long period of failing health, notably with the support of her grandson, Joel Bergeron.

Born in Lewiston, daughter of the late Joseph and Amanda (Plante) Dulac, she graduated from Cours-Superieur (St. Dominic Regional High School) and Lewiston High School. She pursued her dream of a higher education by attending the University of Maine.

She was employed as lifelong bookkeeper and office manager, beginning with the family business at J. Dulac and Sons Plumbing and Hardware and retired from Creative Machine. She was full of curiosity, loved learning, enjoyed gardening, music, dancing and singing. She was a member of the Sacred Heart Church Choir. She took pleasure in spending time with her family and passing on her French heritage. She was a nurturing role model and a true example of perseverance.

Lucile leaves behind her beloved children, Hope Avery of Miami, Fla., Peter Bergeron of Poland, Paul Bergeron and his wife, Mona, of Minot, Pauline Boucher of Lewiston, Jean Horrigan and her husband, James, and June Lachance, both of Hopkinton, Mass.; sister, Madeleine Loffredo of Mt. Holly, N.J.; brother, Jean Paul Dulac and his wife, Valerie, of Chelmsford, Mass.; cherished grandchildren; great-grandchildren; nieces; and nephews.

She was predeceased by her first husband, George Bergeron; granddaughter, Tracie Avery; sisters, Dorothy Osso and Jacqueline Bergeron; and brother, Leo (Fern) Dulac.
