AUBURN — Robin Dow Senior Citizens will meet at 9 a.m. Wednesday, July 28, at the American Legion Post 31, 426 Washington St. for the annual summer picnic.
Members are reminded to bring their cups. Coffee and doughnuts will be served in the morning. Lucien Marcoux will be head chef, assisted by volunteers, and the menu will include hot dogs and hamburgers.
There will be a bonus bingo following lunch, and prior to that, members will furnish their own cards and other games they would like to play throughout the day.
Members met July 14 under the direction of President Merry Strout. Carroll Beal was welcomed as a new member. It was announced Treasurer Irving Grant is residing at Schooner Estates, and his wife, Charlotte, is a patient at Russell Park Manor.
Led by Chaplain Pat Donohue, a moment of silence was held in memory of honorary member Birdena Whittle, 104, who died July 3.
July birthdays were acknowledged and following lunch members played bingo. Trip Chairwoman Evelyn Sawin announced seats are still available for a bus trip Aug. 20 to Meredith, N.H. On arrival, passengers will board a train for a two-hour ride, cost $62. The price includes bus fare, train fare and turkey dinner served on the train. One does not have to be a member to go on the trip.
