Class reunion

RUMFORD — The Stephens High School Class of 1955 will hold a class reunion on Saturday, Aug. 14, at the Sons of Italy. There is still time for a response if any classmate would like to attend. For more information, call Jeanne at 364-2412.

Obstacle ride

ANDOVER — The Ellis River Riders on Airport Road in Andover will host an American Competitive Trail Horse Association ride on Saturday, July 31. The six-mile ride will begin at the show grounds, with six obstacles along the trail.

There will be an ACTHA judge at each obstacle to judge the horsemanship of horse and rider maneuvering through each challenge. There are stalls and campsites available by reservation at the grounds. A barbecue supper and breakfast will also be available to participants and guests.

Art in library

ANDOVER — The Pennacook Art Center will show art in the Andover Library during Andover Olde Home Days on Saturday, Aug. 7. For that one day the library hours will be 11 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Bridge results

RUMFORD — The Rumford Bridge Club met July 21 at the Senior Center with the following results: first, Jennifer Cohen and Anna Shaw; second, Clara Roy and Sue Farnum; third, Alan Bradford and Ozzie Swett. Stupendous science

MEXICO — As part of the “Terrific Tuesdays” summer program for kids, the Mexico Public Library host a special program, “Stupendous Science Fun,” at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 3.

Bitsy Ionta, scientist and educator, will present a hands-on program of fun with science. The program is geared for kids ages 2 to 14. The event will be held at the Calvin Lyons Hall next door to the library. For more information, call the library at 364-3281.

Class reunites

BETHEL — The Stephens High School Class of 1945 of Rumford held the 65th class reunion at the Bethel Inn on July 17.

It was well attended, with classmates traveling from Washington state, Maryland, Massachusetts and Maine.

The class is planning another reunion during September next year.

Farmer’s market

WELD — Weld Extension Homemakers will host the 15th annual Farmer’s Market from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 14, at the Town Hall Building, School Street. There will be food, vegetables, flowers and crafts.
