More often then not, people use letters to the editor to express frustrations, air their concerns or voice opinions about certain issues.

I think it’s nice to give equal attention when there have been positive experiences. Such was the case this past Sunday, July 18. A few days prior, I read in the Sun Journal that the Natural History Club Museum in Turner was holding a flower and photo contest in conjunction with an open house. Being an avid hobby photographer it got my attention. I decided to enter some of my photos.

Upon arriving at the museum I was in for a pleasant surprise. There is a very impressive and extensive collection of birds, insects, rocks and minerals, shells and sands (from around the world) and the list goes on and on. The curator even kindly showed me how they made pearl buttons. It was an absolutely fascinating place to visit.

It’s my hope that this letter will get the attention of schools and teachers, as well as other nature-oriented clubs and the general public as this museum is truly worth a visit.
